Kerson Surin

Kerson was born in Joly-Gilbert, a town 8 hours away from Port-Au-Prince by car.  When he was a baby his mother abandoned him, leaving his father to care for the family.  The father also had difficulty caring for the young child, therefore took him to a medical clinic in that region.  Kerson was diagnosed as being severely malnourished, he also had an unknown skin condition. Child was eventually picked -up by the field nurse from the children’s home and brought to the facility for ongoing care, in 2016. At his new home, Kerson received the nutrition and medical services needed to become the active and energic 9-year-old he is today. Even though he is not completely well, Kerson eats well, goes to school, and enjoys playing with his friends.
